Obesity in Poland Growing Each Year
Obesity is not a national problem. It is a global problem. The number of people who are overweight grows each year around the world. One of the countries that has been experiencing more and more obese people is Poland. Before, most of the people maintained the optimal weight. Is the westernization of this country the cause? Is it the same thing that happened to Japan once it get westernized? These are the few questions that need to be addressed.

When you take a look at the history of Poland in terms of diet most of it constitutes of carbohydrates and meat. This Slavic culture has been known to eat meat along with potatoes or breads. When we take a look at the meat distribution most of it is park. Over the last few years the quality of meat got worse. Farmers started to feed pigs and cows with low quality foods which led to obesity of people.
These and other things had an impact on the growing overweight problems of the people. Another important thing that needs to mention is the fact that Westernization took place. More McDonalds were build and other fast food places just like in Japan. This definitely contributed to what we see.
Another important thing that we were able to observe is that more and more Polish people are interested in losing weight. More and more people search for such a terms in Polish as jak szybko schudnąć or jak schudnąć, which translates to how to lose weight or things of this sort.
One of the biggest hits on the market became a protein diet from Mr. Dunkan. It became a hit around the world and especially in Poland. The growing popularity of this diet is a fascinating phenomenon. We shall see what kind of impact will it have on obesity there.
